The Association of Charities of Ukraine has awarded the prestigious “Philanthropist of the Year” award to the Help Ukraine staff led by Director Brian Mefford.
This honor was awarded on June 8th as part of the “National Charities of Ukraine” competition. More than 1500 organizations and individuals were nominated. Independent judges from the association reviewed the nominations and evaluated the achievements to select the winners.
The association has been a leader in establishing high standards for the work of charitable organizations in Ukraine since 2010. Mefford said, “we are humbled by this award and it’s a credit to our team of volunteers including our Operations Director Nancy Baker, our board of directors, and our staff. Most of all, our motivation is to help the Ukrainian people with humanitarian and medical needs during this war and rebuild their lives afterwards. Together we will continue our work and Ukraine will be victorious!”
