Who We Help

Wars and conflicts always have the harshest effect on the most vulnerable including women, children, the elderly and the disabled. That is why those are the people we are focusing on for assistance as they flee conflict to seek security and relief.

We do not operate any projects in occupied territory. Projects in oblasts that are occupied have all been safely evacuated to non-occupied or recently de-occupied areas under the control of the Ukrainian government and armed forces.

Women

Conflict exposes women and girls to increased risk of trafficking and gender based violence.

Children

Conflict challenges all family structures leaving children disproportionately affected.

The Elderly

Many elderly people are unable or unwilling to flee. We provide a steady supply of food, someone to talk to, and medical help.

Special Needs

People with a physical or mental handicap are at extreme risk and they often require additional assistance with transportation and medicine.

"The Russians destroyed 30% of Ukraine’s power stations in just over a week."
- Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky 18 OCT 2022

Temperatures are dropping as winter sets in. Russia has destroyed 30% of Ukrainian power stations in just over a week. Combined with Russian seized and occupied areas containing vast amounts of Ukraine's energy sources, the Ukrainian people are facing a brutal winter.

HU22 is preparing for an expected cold winter by hosting a virtual sleeping bag drive - for use by those displaced due to the war. The sleeping bags are portable and keep people warm even in sub-zero temperatures. In addition to sleeping bags, generators are needed for shelters. $ 25,000 is needed before freezing temperatures arrive.

Impact

We provide micro grants, materials, and technical assistance directly to partners. Why? Because we know them based on over 20+ years’ experience in Ukraine. It’s the absolute fastest way to help with the greatest impact and itransparency. Many of these goods are available commercially but the shrinking of the country’s GDP core needs such as shelter, food, medicine and hygienic products is making certain items, scarce. So we have partnered with suppliers and shipping companies to bring items to those in need and are bringing them in country to our partners on the ground.

We have partnered with the 188 Foundation - for most risky rescues - which has focused on reaching the most vulnerable. However, our fleet of vans and drivers have been able to support transport of many individuals in safer zones.
